Want to Start Fresh? Top 5 Reasons You Should Move to the Coast

Out of our entire population in the United States, about 40 million move each year. And the reasons for moving range anywhere from starting a new job to retirement. Regardless of your reasoning and stage in life, moving locations can be stressful, exhausting, and even pretty confusing. Surf and Turf Real Estate knows how taxing the process can be and we want to make it easier for you to get started, so here are the top 5 reasons you should move to the coast.

If you’ve been considering a relocation and a new start in 2017, you have probably been weighing the pros and cons of cities vs town, houses vs apartments, and a myriad of other life-altering decisions that will be coming your way when you finally start to look for your new place. So let’s break it down:

Why should I move to a beach town?

  1. Health Benefits: Living by the beach has been shown to improve mental well-being by helping to reduce stress. The beautiful surroundings also tend to encourage you to be more physically active in the outdoors, giving you exercise and an important dose of vitamin D.
  2. Better Weather: As much fun as it sounds digging yourself out of the snow pile again this winter, doesn’t digging in the sand to build sand castles sound so much better? In coastal areas the weather tends to be more mild in the winter and hot and breezy in the summer. No more snow boots and puffy coats, you could be wearing sandals all year!
  3. The Food: Instead of taking your special person out for a meal at a chain seafood restaurant, imagine being able to watch the local fishermen bring in their catch of the day as you sit by a window overlooking the water. The food in coastal areas is a mix of delicious fresh seafood with seasonal produce  and unique flavors.
  4. They’re Customizable: Whether you want to live on the ocean, the sound, or a little further inland you have a lot to choose from when it comes to moving to a beach town. Living on the coast means you aren’t limiting yourself to one type of living and one set of views.
  5. You Can Always Beach It: And the top reason? You can go to the beach any time you want! From swimming in the summer to long breezy walks in the winter sunset, there is never a bad time to go to the beach, especially when its right in the back yard!

Welcome! Let’s make 2017 Your Year for a Great Home.

“It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.” -anonymous

Dawneva Evans, Broker in Charge at Surf and Turf Real Estate, has worn many hats over the years. From costuming to boat canvas and from coast to coast, she has lived and worked in some of the greatest parts of the country. These days, though, her passion is connecting people with their dream home or vacation property on the coast of North Carolina. She has spent years working with the public and a decade volunteering her time to the Holly Ridge Planning and Zoning Board, as well playing an integral role in reviving the Parks and Recreation Committee.

She has spent time working with two well-known realty companies in Jacksonville, NC and Topsail Island, NC, honing her real estate and property law knowledge in the process. But when she entered into 2017, Dawneva knew that it was time to strike out on her own. She had her Brother-in-Law, and fellow agent, join her office to bolster up her experience and knowledge with his own unique perspective on the area. Thus Surf and Turf Real Estate was born. Situated right in the middle of town in Holly Ridge, NC, the Surf and Turf Real Estate office is centrally located for anyone in or out of the area looking to purchase or rent a home or property.

Whether you are buying, selling, or renting Surf and Turf Real Estate would love to help you define your needs and find the location you’ve been looking for. Listings currently include some excellent land in Holly Ridge, Burgaw, and Hampstead. The lots vary from rural to town side and offer a number of wonderful perks including sizeable acreage, views, and proximity to necessities. New listings are on the horizon and it pays to keep an eye on the Surf and Turf Real Estate website, as well as the Facebook page for updates

It would be a great joy for Surf and Turf Real Estate to help you realize your dreams with a new home or property. Dawneva and her Broker Associate, Ricky Royal, are always happy to hear from you with any questions you may have or to set up tours of the current listings.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
