Surf and Turf Real Estate was started in 2017 when Dawneva Evans decided to take her decade of Real Estate experience and strike out on her own. Located in the quaint coastal town of Holly Ridge, Surf and Turf Real Estate serves the greater area from Hampstead into Jacksonville.

Dawneva Evans – Broker in Charge

The Evans family moved to Holly Ridge from southern Florida 20 years ago to be closer to Dawneva’s immediate family, as well as her ancestral roots. The Cole family has been living in and coming to the Topsail Beaches since long before memory serves. She quickly joined the Holly Ridge Planning and Zoning Board and spent 19 years as the Vice Chairman working to build up the area and bring back life. In 2015 she revived the Parks and Recreation Committee to further enhance the town for locals and tourists alike.

While she and her husband, Harry Evans, settled in the area to continue running their business, Cross River Canvas, Dawneva knew she wanted to get out and do even more for the area. So, for the last decade she has been working in Real Estate in and around the Topsail areas. Her experience has made her incredibly familiar with the market, the laws, and everything you can expect from a home here. The true testament to her dedication, though, is her time as the President of the Topsail Island Association of Realtors for 2016. She is currently assisting in planning events and community service for the association.

When she isn’t working Dawneva enjoy walking on the beach with her husband and three dogs, gardening, and spending time with her family in the area.

Richard “Ricky” Royal Jr. – Broker Associate

Born and raised in Holly Ridge, Ricky has spent his time learning the island and mainland communities better than almost anyone. He currently owns a local business with his wife, Dorothy Royal, and his two kids, Raquel and Colt, are still in school in the area. Before Ricky qualified for his Real Estate license and struck out into small business owner, he wa a NC General Contractor for the area. He has personally built, renovated, and modified several ocean front and mainland homes and commercial properties (including his own!). This has given him a very intimate knowledge of what makes a good building, what a good property looks like, and the extensive building codes of North Carolina.

As an avid sportsman, Ricky likes to spend his time outdoors enjoying everything the sun, sand, and ocean have to offer. The family has their own farm complete with horses, dogs, and even peacocks. He also has an acute knowledge of firearms and specializes in locating firearm-friendly properties for commericial and hunting purposes.
